DGM HQ.
Alex is in, also Hugh the Fierce of the DGM Art Department. Hugh employs the DGM cappuccino machine with fervor…
 Morning reading…
The sun is shining, fitfully, with some success I...

A pile of stuff is waiting. Where the spontaneous, joyful spirit of the artist? Quivering gently within, perhaps.
10.45 David and Indeg are now also arrived.
The latest arising-dissension concerns iTunes, highlighting a primary flaw in their business model. When an “established” company provides iTunes with material for downloading, claiming rights to the material, how does iTunes know? Virgin/EMI, Sanctuary/UMG, Lakeside Entertainment have all provided iTunes with KC material to which they claimed rights. None of them had any. Why did iTunes accept their claims? Why was no diligence made?
12.08 Yesterday I declined to compose a piece for a stunning (“classical”) music project This morning I am declining to be a keynote speaker at a music festival…
many thanks for your kind interest. i am flattered that you think i might have something to offer your excellent festival, but i will gratefully and respectfully decline.
1. i no longer perform in public, as of 4 december 2010 at the world financial center in NYC.
2. when i was an active working player, i found it not possible to speak and then to move to music. as if my brain was re-directed in some way.
3. although i do some speaking, notably with Sister Patricia, it is not in the UK. i have found, and this has been confirmed over many years, that mine is not a voice for england.
on the occasions i have taken on a presentation of some kind at various establishments / institutions in this country, i can only report that i have failed to stir any interest.
not one to easily accept defeat, familiar with rebuttal, following my last adventure in speaking to a college, i accepted: this is not a country where i can make a useful contribution.
where i do seem to be of use is with the students from Guitar Craft, the Guitar Circles and The OCG...
yes, i live in england, moving from dorset to worcestershire eleven years ago.
very best for your festival.
12.23 Hugh and Mr. Stormy have set off for the store, delivering boxes of archive tapes now processed, Hugh to take pix of RF gear.
17.36 Stuff. Stuff.
A final Kitchen Discussion with David covering the next three years of DGM activities. Clearly, some assumptions regarding the future were made. Assuming some resolution / suspension of industrial dissension and hostilities, onto the second The Vicar album, the fourth The Vicar book, and The ReConstruKction Of Light, the DGM Companion To King Crimson 1969-84.
The desk relatively cleared…
… to load the car and set off home, via Wilton.
21.14 Mr. Romain continues to acquire worthy pieces for Romain’s Emporium Of Ageing Wonders - That Make You Feel Younger As You Fondle Their Patina!...
A traversing of the premises, as is conventional on my visits. The room-at-the-back of any dealer’s premises is always more interesting than the shop.
Onto Bredonborough. Home. Hooray! I…
