Johnny's Rock And Roll Show
:: Posted by Sid Smith on Tue., May 14, 2013
Aylesbury has long association with progressive rock dating all the way back to 1969 and the famous Friars Club. Last week John Wetton and Jakko Jakszyk performed at the town's Waterside Theatre as part of Steve Hackett's Genesis Revisited tour. Next month there's a special fund-raising concert taking place in the same venue. You can find out more here

Vicar Dolby Launch
:: Posted by David S on Mon., May 13, 2013

It has taken a while for news of the Vicar launch at Dolby HQ in London to find it’s way onto these pages - a mixture of the absence of The Voice that is Sidney Smith and my own ineptitude.

A fabulous event - Dolby were kind enough to announce The Vicar Songbook as a perfect example of true HD surround sound and will be using it as their demonstration music. It certainly sounded wondrous in their Ray Dolby Theatre.

Thanks to Jonathan Jowitt (JJ) at Dolby, Neil Wilkes at Opus Productions and all who attended, including David Revelle, the worthy winner from DGMLive...

And a certain Robert Fripp, seen here with the two mighty men from IE music, David Enthoven and...um...Tim Clark (it is possible that he sent someone more beautiful in his place).

Mister Stormy's Monday Selection

By way of a curtain-raiser to the reissue of Beat later this year, Mister Stormy has blown the cobwebs of Bill and Tony whipping up a mutant space-jazz storm that is Requiem.

Bowie & Fripp
:: Posted by Sid Smith on Mon., May 13, 2013
Media hussy that he is, Robert Fripp is once again set to appear on prime time TV. This time he’s going to be one of the talking heads that will be popping up in BBC TV’s David Bowie documentary, Five Years which airs on Saturday 25th May. Diary readers will recall RF mentioning filming taking place on 15th March 2013. TV reviewer Boyd Hilton tweeted at the weekend: David Bowie: Five Years on BBC2, Sat, May 25 is not to be missed. The best Bowie documentary ever. Best contributions: Robert Fripp #Bowie

Robert Fripp appeared on a celebrity edition of ITV's prime time show Mr & Mrs alongside his wife Toyah Willcox. You can watch the whole thing on the ITV player (for UK residents only) but in the meantime, get your wit around this pic and provide us with a winning caption. ONE entry per person so make it count!

Mr & Mrs
:: Posted by Sid Smith on Wed., May 8, 2013
The interwebs are ablaze and agog with excitement due to the impending transmission of Celebrity Mr & Mrs on ITV at 8.00 pm tonight. Will the secret of squerd be revealed to an unsuspecting prime time TV audience? Will the verb gentling pass into common usage after tonight? Will the publicity-hungry Fripp and his 'night time adventures' receive the kind of psychological study and scrutiny they so obviously deserve? Find out tonight!
