A Winner Writes...
:: Posted by Sid Smith on Sun., Apr 15, 2012

Rick Mascarini was the winner of our recent Pat Mastelotto Recidivate competition and here he is with his prize...

Rick writes "I arrived home yesterday (Friday 13th of April) from another long business excursion to find my "prize" having arrived while I was on the road. The picture was taken w/ my now trusty iPad 2 along with the P@ music playing from the same said device.  Wonderful that I can travel and have these gems playing on headphones while sitting in airplanes. Thanks again for the contests and I'm very proud to be a lucky winner!"

Jakko's Mixing It Up
:: Posted by Sid Smith on Tue., May 20, 2014
It's been a busy few weeks for King Crimson's Jakko Jakszyk. Not only did he mix Jethro Tull front man Ian Anderson's latest album, Homo Erraticus, which went into the Top 20 album charts in the UK, his remix of ELP's Brain Salad Surgery album has been released this week in its 6-disc deluxe format. Jakko's work on the album, which includes new stereo and surround sound mixes has been singled out for praise in this review in Prog magazine.

In addition to his remixing work, Jakko has received a commission for a  forthcoming BBC Radio 3 production due to be broadcast in June, documenting the unlikely friendship between Groucho Marx and TS Eliot.  Stay tuned for more details.

My thanks to Sam Sleiman who writes "I was disappointed that no information existed on the drum kit used by Michael Giles during his time with King Crimson, so I did some research and came up with this".

Court In View
:: Posted by Sid Smith on Mon., May 19, 2014
My thanks to Mark for the following who saw this interesting street name here. Mark writes "I actually discovered this many years ago when the street was fairly new but didn’t have a camera with me (in the age before we became small mobile intelligent units with our mobile devices). I realize there is a Crimson King maple tree but what makes this fun is the street name includes the word "Court".

1994 Argentina Tour Bundle Available
:: Posted by Sid Smith on Tue., May 13, 2014
There are thirteen shows from King Crimson’s return to active service in 1994 available to download. The shows document in close detail the development of the material that would become part of the KC repertoire for the next 20 years.

If you’ve already downloaded three or more of the five shows previously available, then you’re eligible for a free show of your choice from the DGMLive library.  The series of shows begins with their first appearance since 1984 at the Prix D’Ami, Buenos Aires and concludes at the Teatro Broadway, Buenos Aires.

If you’re only looking to nab one show that’s not been previously available then might I suggest you wrap your listening gear around this little beauty of a gig: the second show of the evening on the 8th October.
